Ivana Gmitrovic is a poet originally from Serbia, now based in Montreal. She began writing poetry at the age of 13 as a form of therapy to help her unravel and understand her emotions, turning to words as a quiet refuge in moments of heartbreak, loss, and deep reflection.

Currently studying building engineering, Ivana balances her love for technical structure with a passion for artistic expression. Her poetry is shaped by more than a decade of personal journaling, emotional exploration, and creative experimentation. While this is her first published collection, she has been sharing her work on social media, gradually building a space for vulnerability and connection through language.

This book began as a way to challenge herself, step outside of her comfort zone, and embrace the joy of turning introspection into art. When she’s not writing, Ivana can be found reading, experimenting with different art forms, cuddling with her dogs, or diving into deep conversations on philosophy, literature, science, and math.
